Here is how joining the Earth Day Challenge can help you fit more climate actions into your daily life.

An Earth Day Challenge

... AND AN OPPORTUNITY

There are two ways to solve the climate crisis.

  1. One is to gradually change the energy supply from fossil fuels to renewable sources. That can take a long time.
  2. The other way is to reduce our demand for energy. That may mean using alternative transportation, turning lights off when not in use, adjusting the thermostat, reduce use of plastic, and many of the 54 actions listed in this Challenge. These changes have an immediate effect, allowing us to reach our goal of net zero much sooner.

Many of us are already taking actions to some degree, but we can take MANY MORE ACTIONS to make an even greater impact.

  • If you are already recycling, can you start composting?
  • If you are already composting, can you avoid using plastic bags?
  • If you are already [_________________], can you [_________________]?

Let’s get started: Go to EVENT INFO to find out how to join the Challenge that runs from Earth Day, APRIL 22, 2022 to MAY 13, 2022. If you are ready to sign up, go HERE.

Our Story

This project was originally conceived in 2007 as a Girl Scout project to save energy at home. It has seen many iterations while branching out to include schools and the local community. In 2022 we are expanding the circle to make an even bigger impact on our planet, Earth.
